Tournament triumph

Aspen

Some members of Aspen class represented our school at the American Flag Football competition today at the Bar End Leisure Centre against four other teams. Overall, they came in second place, only being one point away from winning! There was a great turnout from the parents and carers, and we are all so proud of the team. Well done everyone!

Maple

Maple Class have been working hard on their maths learning this week. Year R children have been exploring doubles, whilst Year 1 children have been learning to measure using objects

Rowan

Rowan have been learning about seasonal plants that grow in spring. We learnt how some flowers grow from bulbs and some grow from seeds. We then went on a walk around school to find some spring flowers. We saw lots of daffodils and even saw some bees and ladybirds! Later in the week, we learnt about germination and planted some cress seeds so we can watch them grow over the next few weeks.

Birch

Birch class have been enjoying their time at forest school with Rowan class, learning to explore the outdoors.

We have been learning about tectonic plates and plate boundaries in geography. This week, the children each picked a volcano to research and created a fact file based on that volcano. Our focus is now switching from volcanoes to earthquakes.

Sycamore

Sycamore Class have been working really hard on fractions this week. It has been tricky, because this time the fractions are larger than one! The photos show how excellent they are at drawing bar models to show their understanding of the fractions.

Elm

As part of Safer Internet Day in February the children in Elm class were exploring how useful and trustworthy AI can be. They researched how to use AI, always double check the information and to know where biased and unbiased information may come from.
