Comic Relief 2021

School had a very different feel today as Staff and pupils came to school dressed as rock stars to raise money for Comic Relief. The theme rock stars was chosen to celebrate all the children’s hard work on Times Table Rockstars and children with the highest scores in each class were given certificates. Everyone looked amazing and it was great to see all the fabulous wigs, stylish bandanas, colourful tutus and even some fishnet gloves!

The school managed to raise £213.72 for Comic Relief and we know that this will go towards people and organisations who need our help in the UK and around the world.

Many thanks to all the parents and carers who supported with this event: the children had a brilliant time and managed to raise money for a great cause. We hope you enjoy the photos below.

Keys for Success and the Corona Virus

I can offer advice to help provide a solution to a problem.

By Sycamore Class

You could use persistence because I think businesses should be able to keep on trying so they do not fail.

You should use persistence to keep on trying to find a cure for the virus.

Show respect for others by not taking all of the food but leaving some for other people.

Everyone should stop buying everything from the shops and the government should organise online shopping so that everyone can have a fair amount.

If you are not successful with a cure straightaway, use resilience and try again.

If you have to stay at home for two weeks respect the rules.

Use resilience to cope if you are stuck at home and find things to do like arts and craft.

Be confident that you will be able to get out and out about again.

Year 5 and 6 - Saying thank you to the NHS

Year 5 and 6 have entered the Step into the NHS competition, where we will be designing a piece of art to say thank you for all of their hard work.

To inspire us we had a visit from an ambulance crew along with an ambulance. We were able to ask questions, sit in the front of the vehicle and even see how the equipment in the back of ambulance works. We all thoroughly enjoyed setting the sirens off and watching the blue lights flash.

Year 6 Health and Wellbeing day

Today Year 6 have had a really fantastic day thanks to the team from CAMHS and local artists. We started the day with an inspiring talk from Laura an artist who specialises in printing and film making.

All the children in Year 6 learnt how to use collagraph and block printing to make friendship works of art. We have all had a wonderful day of creation and fun and our wellbeing by the end of the day was great! Art is a superb way to feel good about yourself and others.
