Food Glorious Food
Our Caterlink school lunches are gaining popularity as children and parents see the benefit of ordering a tasty school meal at lunchtime. If your child hasn’t tried a school meal yet, then perhaps suggest that they give it a go. There is a fun menu available for World Book Day next Thursday 5th March.
Maple
This week, Maple Class have been learning about some of the celebrations that different cultures have. We have been learning how people celebrate Chinese Lunar New Year and comparing it with how New Year is celebrated elsewhere. The children have loved writing in Mandarin, making lanterns and Dragon masks and listening to Chinese influenced music.
Rowan
Rowan have been learning their 2, 5 and 10 times tables. The children have really enjoyed learning them in different ways and have been really excited to start using Times Tables Rock Stars in school and at home. In RE, we have started thinking about the concept of welcoming. We thought about how we have been welcomed and how we might welcome someone to our school
Birch
In English we have started our new book "escape from Pompeii." We have been learning about life in Pompeii before the eruption so that we can add more details into our writing. As part of this we created a freezeframe and acted out various jobs from the Roman era.
In science we have been testing whether material and objects are magnetic, using a magnet. The children predicted whether different objects would be magnetic.

Sycamore Class have had a very busy week. First, we learnt about the Water Cycle by making a mini version. We learnt all of the key vocabulary including precipitation, condensation and evaporation.
