Potions, paintings and parachutes

Maple

Maple Class loved the autumn sunshine in Forest School this week. They loved making mud potions and searching for the largest leaves they could find. In science, children have started to learn to sort using Venn diagrams. YR children have been learning to represent 3 and 4 in different ways.

Rowan

In PE, Birch and Rowan have enjoyed using the different apparatus to practise jumping and climbing skills - some of them even climbed to the top!

Birch

Birch have been learning about the end of the stone age and the start of the bronze age. We learnt about technological changes, such as pottery and in art we have sketched some bell beaker pottery, a type of pottery from the start of the bronze age

Sycamore

In our maths lessons we have been learning about addition and subtraction. To help with this, we played a short game called “strike it out” to warm our brains up for when we need to do quick mental addition and subtraction.

Aspen

This week Aspen class have been learning about air resistance and how the larger the surface area of an object the greater the resistance. They built and designed three different parachutes each, changing a variable on each one, to see what effect it would have on the air resistance. They really enjoyed being creative and testing their parachutes. Well done Aspen class.

Elm

This week in Elm class we were finalising our skills of tints, tones, and shades, using them to create a landscape piece incorporating all three
