Ukulele Club meets every Tuesday after school between 3:15 - 4:00pm in Elm Class. The club is for complete beginners and those who may have played the ukulele at home or in another school club.
The ukulele is a great little instrument and is very suitable for children as it's easy to learn and you can play lots of songs with only a very few chords.
The club is run by Mrs Richardson and Ms Pickup, who are both members of Southampton Ukulele Jam.
The children have already learned several songs and are getting to grips with some festive favourites at the moment.
Here they are in their very first public performance at the Christmas service at Christ Church in December 2016.
Here they are again concentrating hard, learning a new song in a recent club session.
And now they've learned it they've gone a bit bonkers....! ;)
The Club is full at present but if you'd like to join, your name can be added to a waiting list.
STOP PRESS! STOP PRESS! STOP PRESS!
Unfortunately we will have to suspend ukulele club until after Easter due to the clash with the SATs revision club. There are no classrooms available and over 50% of our club members are in Year 6.
We had hoped to find an alternative afternoon but this has not proved possible.
Sorry for such disappointing news but hopefully we will be able to resume during the summer term.
In the meantime, keep on strumming!
