Birch Class had a brilliant time at Butser Ancient Farm on Monday. It was amazing to step so far back in time and discover just how different life was then.
The children took part in a range of activities including wattling, chalk carving and even basic archaeology!
Using hazel rods up to 4 metres long, they wove a fence before carving a picture of a lump of chalk with a sharpened flint. Prehistoric people would use these as house gods.
One of the most interesting activities was learning the basics of archaeology, digging in pits and then analysing what they had found.
