Read all about it! - 21 January 2013
Reading the news recently you could be forgiven for thinking that there are no good news stories left to report on, but that was remedied at The Carroll Centre in Stanmore this Monday when the new Stanmore Community Library was officially opened.
In spite of the snow and icy conditions, the Library was packed with local dignitaries, Winchester MP Steve Brine, Stanmore residents and Stanmore School pupils who had given up part of their inset day to help celebrate this brand new facility.
Councillor Ken Thornber, CBE cut the gold tape around the Library self service machine and the new Library was declared open. Hurray!
The cake cutting ceremony was followed by plenty of cake eating and many pupils took the opportunity to join the Library, receive a Library card and take their pick of the new books. It was very easy to take books out with the self service machine.
The Library will be open 10:00 am- 2:30pm on Monday, Tuesday Wednesday and Friday and from 10:00am till 5:00pm on Thursday.
So...what are you waiting for – sign up today and get reading!
