It was great having Ali Sparkes join us for our Book Club on 28th November. She told us all about how the idea for Wishful Thinking came to her when she was in the shower and that it was a book she had really enjoyed writing. It was fascinating finding out all about her research into English Gods and to discover that the tea room where the novel opens actually exists. She had afternoon tea there with her sister when she went to check out the river Ouse!
The book club members were able to ask her lots of questions both about the book and her writing process. The club session whizzed by in a flash and Ali rounded off the meeting by signing books and book marks.
Thanks very much to Ali for coming into school. It’s just brilliant to have the author of the book in the room with us and really makes it a book club session to remember!
