‘Acorns’ is Stanmore School’s Nuture Group
Up to eight children of mixed ability, meet together for three to four sessions each week.
During these sessions out of the classroom, the children are given play opportunities to help them learn to get on with one another, to share and to concentrate. The children work towards achieving six key skills during each session.
* Good listening
* Good looking
* Good thinking
* Kind hands and feet
* Kind words
* Working hard
Acorn pupils have been really enjoying their latest topic which has been looking at all aspects of Spring and Summer. The school has benefited from their enthusiastic litter pick around the grounds. They all worked so hard to make sure our fabulous grounds were clear of rubbish and looking at their best.
The Acorns exterior is starting to green up too as the children have planted sunflowers, tubs and hanging baskets. The sunflowers are really shooting up as the children make sure they are well watered each day.
Well done Acorns!
